Micaela Murphy

Micaela Murphy is a dedicated violin and viola educator and professional violist based in Northeast Ohio. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied viola performance under Jeffrey Irvine and Lynne Ramsey of The Cleveland Orchestra. After beginning violin at age four and discovering the viola at thirteen, Micaela developed a deep passion and love for the viola. 


Micaela is Suzuki-trained in the Suzuki Violin Books 1–4 and is a registered teacher with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She has been teaching violin and viola for over fifteen years and has studied pedagogy extensively, including Suzuki training with Kimberly Meier-Sims and pedagogy training with Jeffery Irvine, both at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She has been invited to teach masterclasses at the Ohio Viola Society’s Viola Day Convention and is known for her thoughtful, encouraging, and technically grounded approach to instruction.


Her students have been accepted into prestigious programs and organizations, including the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra and multiple collegiate music programs.  She works with students of all ages, from pre-Twinkler beginners to advanced players preparing for auditions and collegiate study. Micaela is deeply committed to fostering strong fundamentals, musical confidence, and a lifelong love of music in every student she teaches.

Micaela believes in fostering a love for music through personalized instruction that builds confidence and discipline. With Suzuki pedagogy at the core of her teaching, she ensures each student develops technical and musical skills in a supportive environment.
